The speaker will describe how the use of an innovative ballasted clarification (CoMag) prpcess has been used to lower the Phosphorus output at two Welsh Water plants (Lletty Brongu and Ruthin). The implementation of the technology will improve the discharge into the local river that will benefit the environment.

The speaker will explain how the process uses a ballast (Magnetite) to improve the settlement of the solids in the wastewater process thus leading to better effluent quality leaving the works. The speaker will discuss how the CoMag process was integrated into the existing processes utilising the existing Humus Tanks.
