We were an early adopter of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme. Working with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and talented graduates working towards a PhD, we have been able to guide the development of innovative new products for the water industry.
The work on the Smart Standpipe Project led to Dario Chiantello, our KTP associate, winning the ‘Best of the Best Award’ this year.

Identifying the problem:
Imagine being able to walk into a property, and with just a single drop of water identify if lead levels are safe. No samples to send off. No expensive lab equipment.
Alejandro Garcia-Miranda Ferrari, our latest KTP associate, is developing an in-situ sensor platform to perform single-shot, disposable, reproducible, low-cost and ready-to-use water monitoring analysis. For more information on the progress on this project take a look at our presentation.

Quick Fix, immediately cleaning the supply
Working with MMU and Spheritech, we are trialling a heavy metal filter. Unlike traditional methods, this uses an innovative biopolymer and can configured into a fully recyclable, compact cartridge.
Filtration is never a long-term solution, but for a ‘quick fix’ while remedial work is being undertaken, it can be the perfect solution.
